App of the Week: Educreations

Developing content and lessons on a mobile devices quick and easily are becoming more important in education for both students and teachers. In the past, I have discussed the iPad app Techsmith’s ScreenChomp as a digital whiteboard and wanted to review another app, Educreations. Educreations is another FREE app (educators favorite word) that turns your iPad into a digital whiteboard to record your lesson as you draw, type, and write along with your voice. You can get Educreations for free here http://www.educreations.com/ and check out various sample lessons developed by fellow educators.

Pluses:

• Precreate multiple whiteboard pages
• Add multiple images and move them
• Find already developed tutorials

Minuses:

• Can’t export and edit videos
• Need to create an account to share
• Can’t use them offline
