Social Media in the Classroom Segment on Fox 35

Fox 35 Interview Social Media in the Classroom

Recently I was interviewed for a segment that aired last night on Fox 35 on Social Media in the Classroom. They visited Valencia College’s West Campus to hear about how social media is becoming more important to students, both in connecting and preparing them for the workplace. I chatted about lots of different ideas behind why it’s important, how I train teachers with the Teaching & Learning with Social Media course, and how I’m using it with students/educators. I was able to setup a visit with Amanda Kern and her class on West Campus that day. Amanda is a pioneer in integrating social media into the classroom and based her tenure work on it. The best part was hearing from her students!
