I’m currently an educator, instructional designer, tech nerd, gadget lover, surfer, foodie, photographer, sketch artist, and all around geek. I blog about everything from iPhone app for educators to Orlando’s growing tech scene.
I’m known as Professor Josh to many on social media and in the classroom. I currently work at Valencia College as an instructional designer helping build online courses, train faculty on technology, and solve the Blackboard problems of the world. I’m an Associate Faculty teaching Educational Technology, Social Networking for Job Search and New Student Experience. I have taught online, hybrid, and face-to-face for the past eleven years and worked in higher education for over seventeen years.
I have a Master of Arts in both Educational Leadership for Higher Education and Instructional Technology from University of Central Florida. I have a graduate certificate in e-learning.
I’m actively involved in various technology related groups in Orlando. I have presented at numerous national conferences on assisted technology, social media in education, millennial generation, web 2.0 technology, gadgets, social networking, blogging, wearable technology, online courses, and various other topics. I on the planning team for Florida Bloggers and Social Media Conference (FLBlogCon). I host a regular segment “Blogger’s Lab” on BlogTalkTV. I’m an organizer and mentor at Startup Weekend Orlando (including Startup Weekend Education). I’m an organizer for the EdTech Orlando meetup. I’m on the Board of Directors for Valencia College Foundation and various other collegewide committees. I’m on the Seminole State College’s Alumni Association Leadership Team.
