iPhone Apps Reviews – Talking Carl – RedLaser – PS Mobile

Talking Carl

Talking Carl

The 99-cent iPhone app Talking Carl was a recommendation by another friend with kids . The graphics aren’t  spectacular and it a lot like your annoying younger brother who used to repeat everything you would say just to annoy you until you felt the need to pummel him.

I never would have bothered with Talking Carl if it hadn’t been for my son. Talking Carl made us laugh together and can keep him entertained when traveling or waiting in line. It’s a good laugh for both of us, especially when you try to make different voices or noises for him to repeat.

Say something to Talking Carl and he’ll repeat it back to you in a funny voice. Poke him in the eyes and he yells at you. You can tickle Talking Carl to make him laugh. Pinch him and he’ll growl at you. Ignore him and he’ll irritate you until you say something and he says it back, and then you have to laugh.

No, Talking Carl isn’t going to organize your life, help you find a movie time, or offer a challenge in your life in any way. But Talking Carl will make you laugh. He’s just pure fun, and sometimes that’s just what we need.

You might have seen this app featured on the iPhone commercial. It’s FREE now!  This app will help you shop smarter. RedLaser searches for low online and local (NEW) prices from hundreds of thousands of retailers. Great to check prices versus online retailers when at local stores, especially if you like to shop at amazon and other sites.

It scan fast, even without auto-focus on older iPhone models. RedLaser uses state-of-the-art barcode recognition that can read virtually any product barcode. I recently used this app while shopping at Target for some Blurays, wondering if they had the best price I scanned the barcode and quickly it came back with Amazon having a much cheaper price. I went on my Amazon app and ordered while still in Target, wish free shipping and no tax.

  1. I had Talking Carl already (also for kid-inspired purposes) but the other two are great – thanks for the suggestions!

    • Anyone with kids and an Iphone must get Talking Carl – it’s worth every penny! The other 2 are great to have and free too! Maybe later this week I’ll review a couple iPad apps.
