Tap11 joins Delicious as part of AVOS
Recently the Founders of YouTube acquired the my favorite social bookmarking site dropped by Yahoo (bad idea on their part) called Delicious http://wp.me/p10Pdu-cZ. Under the Internet company AVOS, YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen are adding another tool to their arsenal. It’s a real-time business intelligence platform called Tap11.com.
Tap11 is an analytics platform that focuses on Twitter and Facebook, but it can also be linked to other social and publishing accounts.
Tap11 data wrapped up inside the Delicious bionetwork that makes it valuable. From a reporting perspective, publishers and marketers could possibly get better insight into how many users bookmark, tag, share or discover a link using Delicious. For certain types of engagement, this could be very powerful resource available.
I would guess this is what Yahoo was trying to do with Delicious when they first acquired them.Yahoo simply never found a way to monetize or better integrate that data with its other tools to make a profit from it.
By having both a robust reporting and analytics platform and access to millions of bookmarks and interaction data, AVOS could be onto something.
