Recently I stumbled upon someone’s Professional Journey on SlideShare. At first, I thought this was one of their own SlideShare presentations created for a presentation or talk. As I dug into it, I found the option to create my own Professional Journey. Creating a Professional Journey on SlideShare is simple and quick, especially for those of us who have up-to-date LinkedIn accounts.
What is a Professional Journey on SlideShare?
Professional Journey is a new feature on SlideShare that allows you to connect to your LinkedIn account to create an interactive infographic on your experiences, skills, positions, education, and recommendations in a few simple clicks. This a relatively new feature most likely showing off LinkedIn’s continued connection to SlideShare and it’s use for sharing beyond presentation, including documents, infographics, and videos.
How to Create a Professional Journey on Slide Share.
It’s really as simple as three steps:
- Connect via LinkedIn to get your data
- Pick a template you like
- Publish your journey to your SlideShare account
Of course, if you don’t have a SlideShare account or up-to-date LinkedIn account, you might want to work on those first.

Why could this be useful?
Resume are boring. Recruiters, people hiring freelances, and employers are search the web for people who standout. People who have something unique but still have still. SlideShare is a great way to show off your skill as a leader on various subjects but now can be a great way to show off your own experience. SlideShare is great on mobile, tablets, and desktops for viewing too.
