Orlando Tech Week Planned for Fall 2014 #OrlandoTech

The Orlando Tech Association, along with over a dozen community partners, has begun planning for Tech Week, a collection of events hosted by organizations and businesses from across Orlando’s technology industry. Between Sept. 27- Oct. 3, 2014 various parts of the Orlando tech community will come together to showcase what Orlando has to offer the community in regards to its thriving tech community.  Partners range from the Orlando Science Center to local grassroots meetup groups, and topics include programming; big data; space technology; gaming; laser and photonics; STEM education; medical technology; simulation; and tech business development, among others.

I personally have attended, presented, and covered the majority of these Orlando events in the past few years. I have seen the growth and unity of the Orlando tech community over the last few years. It will be amazing to see the Orlando tech community showcased during Orlando Tech Week. I would love to see a tech job and educational fair happen during that week.

Orlando Tech Meetup planned for Orlando Tech Week

“We want to pack these seven days with tech-themed events, parties, workshops, and activity. We have a thriving tech community, and we hope Tech Week will bring people working in different areas of tech together for a week-long celebration of what we’re doing and where we’re going,” said Orlando Tech Executive Director Orrett Davis.

Additional events will be added over the course of the next few months, and a full calendar made available on the Orlando Tech website. Anyone interested in getting involved as an event host, sponsor, or volunteer can contact Orlando Tech.
