Startup Weekend Orlando Returns in April

Startup Weekend Orlando #sworl is returning to Orlando, helping startups form, build, and pitch over a weekend (54 hours). On April 12-14th, Startup Weekend Orlando will take over the Seminole State College Heathrow Campus with dozens of new startup ideas being pitches and only a few making it to the final round of pitches to see which one will become victorious.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups.

Startup Weekend Orlando Building a Strong Tech Community

  1. Sounds fun, I was considering moving to Orlando and hearing about all the tech events happening out there from you is making me consider it more. Thanks Professor Josh for keeping us up to date with all the tech events happening in Orlando FL : )

    • Orlando tech and entrepreneurial community has really started to grow in the last 2-3 years. It’s amazing how events and meetups are forming to help build this community and keep talents and businesses around. Hopefully with the future of the Creative Village in Downtown Orlando, there will be even more growth around these areas!
