It’s that time of year again. SXSW takes over the city of Austin, Texas for a few weeks. I’ll be traveling there for SXSWedu to cover all the edtech amazingness, education innovation, and driven educators again this year. I’ll be sketching again! Traveling to conferences can have it perks, especially with networking with other professionals in your field. Social media has amplified this ability to network prior, during, and after large events, such as SXSWedu. Below are just 5 social networking tips to improve your connections at SXSWedu and other conferences. This is especially important advise to my fellow introverts, who don’t just go talk with any old stranger about their cats.

As a foodie traveling to Austin, I couldn’t resist eating at some of my favorite spots, and a few new ones along the way. This isn’t just for those traveling to Austin for SXSWedu or SXSW, but for anyone that enjoys a good meal in a great town. Doccaster is a great location based document sharing startup that is changing the way we share documents at events and helping to save tons of money and tree by going paperless. The digital locker’s location is on top of the Hilton in downtown Austin for #SXSWedu.
