On August 27, 2013, VenturePitch Orlando returned for another round of demos by four companies (learn more about the companies at the bottom of the post). TriNet is one of the continued supporters of VenturePitch Orlando, as the stage sponsor. This time, with our partnership, we brought Google Glass along to give participants a chance to try them out and give their thoughts on the latest in wearable technology.

This was Brooks’ first time getting to try on Google Glass.
“I was really looking forward to trying on the google glasses at VenturePitch in Orlando (Thanks Professor Josh). I found the glasses incredibly comfortable and easy to use. It took me a minute to adjust to the screen but once I did, the view was great and surprisingly did not obstruct my eyesight at all. The glasses were very responsive to my commands verbally as well as the touch commands. I am sure there will be a huge demand for these from the consumer, but I see many uses outside of the consumer.” - Eric Brooks, TriNet
Another first time user, Renz Kuipers of Carvoyant, can’t wait to get his own pair of Google Glass. Carvoyant is also a client of TriNet.
I was amazed at how easy Google Glass was to use. I expected these to be very distracting, however, to my surprise the location of the ‘screen’ is perfectly situated to allow the user to view items, navigate menus and easily walk around and talk to people. Not everyone is an instant believer in Google Glass.
“This product has a lot of potential in the next 10 years. I feel that they are too intrusive on everyday life right now, but as the evolve they will get easier to wear and use. I do not want a pair right now, but might when they are smaller or contacts.
It didn’t take long for folks to become accepting of looking at their phone’s for hours a day. It might take even longer folks to become accepting of having a screen in the direct line of view in the future. What happens when someone get’s hurt because they couldn’t see a danger in front of them because the glass blocked their vision?”- Dan McGaw, Envy Labs & Code School
