More Local Businesses: Maitland Farmers Market

Farmer Markets are a great place to visit on the weekend for fresh produce, yummy food, and a great atmosphere.

Lake Lily is the location of the Maitland Farmers Market most Sundays from 9am-2pm.

Why did I choose to go to the Maitland Farmers Market on Sunday? Well the main reason was to check out the Yum Yum Cupcake Truck – find out were they will be next on Twitter @yumyumtruck_fl or on Facebook The Yum Yum Truck . Let’s get started with the cupcakes! We decided to get both the mint chocolate and the chocolate with peanut butter frosting. They were both Yum Yum!

I didn’t get to try the second food truck which showed up a little after I devoured my cupcake. It was the Tree House Truck @TREEHOUSETRUCK who has an interesting menu including Red Velvet Pancakes, Deep Fried PBJs, Steak & Eggs, and Deep Friend Oreos. I’ll definitely need to try some of their sampling next time they are at the Farmers Market.

It wouldn’t be a farmers market without fresh produce. I was very pleased with the selection and prices for the produce. Green peppers, zucchini, squash, strawberries, carrots, bananas, cucumbers, and tomatoes were my selection for the week.

Lots of other vendors selling a variety of foods from falafel sandwiches to island BBQ sprinkled through the market. Kettle Corn, candy, and other treats were available through the local vendors. As well as the sounds of steel drums being played by a man near the Island BBQ trailer.

Lake Lily itself is a beautiful environment to check out and enjoy the outdoors. Viewing wildlife such as these cute ducklings and turtles all around is normal part of your journey around the lake.
